1990 Competition Overview

A varied group of individuals; leaders in their fields of the natural and social sciences, politics, business and design, with the common interest of a profound concern for the environment of the planet Earth, concluded that the most effective way to share ideas and information, to develop comprehensive plans cohesive proposals for the preservation and reclamation of the environment, and to actually implement their ideas in the "real" world of applied science, politics, planning and design was to establish a Center.

Programmatically the Center will consist of four equal components: the Lyceum, which will contain libraries, data retrieval and storage, formal and informal meeting areas and living quarters for resident and visiting environmentalists.
